General FAQs
Who is DCAA?
Data Centre Academy Asia Inc. is an EPI Authorised Training and Audit Partner in the Philippines, supporting access to EPI’s internationally recognised data centre training and certification programmes.
Who issues the course completion certificate?
On successful completion of applicable training, DCAA issues its Certificate of Completion confirming training completion. EPI remains the authority for its professional certifications.
Which training methods are offered?
We offer access to Instructor-Led Training (ILT), Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) and Training On Demand (TOD), where applicable. Delivery may be coordinated through DCAA or EPI. Ask us which format can be arranged for your programme.
Is there a fixed training schedule?
Training dates depend on programme demand, trainer availability and confirmation. Enquire with DCAA about current arrangements.
How do I enquire about training for myself or my team?
Use the DCAA Training Enquiry Form. Include the programme, preferred format, number of learners and preferred timeframe so we can discuss the applicable arrangement.
Who handles examinations and certificates?
EPI is the programme and certification authority and determines examination and professional certification requirements. DCAA can assist with related enquiries.
Training & Registration
How do I select a suitable training programme?
Explore the Training Framework and pathways, then tell DCAA about your role, experience and learning goals. Check the programme prerequisites before registration.
Can organisations arrange group training?
We can discuss private and team training for organisations. Tell us your programme, learner numbers and preferred format; each arrangement is subject to confirmation.
Are all training formats available for every programme?
No. ILT, VILT and TOD availability varies by programme and arrangement. Ask DCAA which format is available for your chosen course.
How do I confirm my training place?
Send your training enquiry and follow the applicable registration and confirmation steps DCAA provides for the proposed arrangement. An enquiry alone does not confirm a place.
Recertification
How do I recertify my certificate?
The Recertification Package supports renewal through self-study at your own pace, with the applicable e-book(s) and examination(s). See the DCAA Recertification page for programme-specific package contents.
Is there a deadline to complete my recertification?
Begin before your certificate expires. A six-month grace period is available if additional time is needed to complete recertification.
My certificate has expired more than six months. Can I recertify?
Once a certificate has expired for more than six months, it cannot be renewed through the standard recertification route. The Back-On-Track (BOT) programme offers an applicable route to regain an active certificate.
Re-take Exam
If a student fails the exam, what are the retake conditions?
An examination retake may be taken within six months of the first examination date. A retake examination voucher is required; contact DCAA for the applicable arrangements.
What if the six-month retake deadline is missed?
Contact DCAA with your programme and original examination date. We can help check the next steps for your case with the certification authority; a further retake is not automatically guaranteed.
Can a student repeat ILT/VILT training to prepare for a retake?
A learner who previously attended ILT or VILT may request to repeat the class within six months of the original training date. Contact the team that handled your registration to check availability. An applicable ILT facility fee may apply; no amount is published here.
Can the examination be retaken from home or office?
Yes. An EPI certification examination retake may be taken remotely. Contact DCAA for the applicable remote arrangements.
CDCP®, CDCS® & CDCE®
Do I need an active CDCP® certificate to enrol in CDCS®?
An active CDCP® certificate is required for CDCS® certification. Within six months of CDCP® expiry, progression without repeating CDCP® may still be possible, provided the CDCS® examination is passed within that six-month period. See the CDCS® programme.
What if my CDCP® expired more than six months ago?
Refresh your CDCP® knowledge through Back-On-Track and regain an active CDCP® certificate before proceeding to CDCS®.
I hold CDCS® or CDCE®. Must I maintain the lower-level certificates too?
Only the highest-level certificate achieved in the CDCP®–CDCS®–CDCE® track needs to be maintained. A CDCS® holder maintains CDCS®; a CDCE® holder maintains CDCE®.
When I recertify CDCS®, will I receive a new CDCP® certificate?
No. Recertifying CDCS® issues the CDCS® certificate only. Likewise, a CDCE® holder receives the CDCE® certificate only; lower-level certificates are not reissued.
What if my CDCS® expired more than six months ago before CDCE®?
Refresh both CDCP® and CDCS® knowledge through Back-On-Track and obtain active CDCP® and CDCS® certificates before proceeding to CDCE®.
Can I buy only an exam for recertification?
No. Recertification uses the Recertification Package, a self-study bundle with the applicable e-book(s) and examination(s), rather than an examination-only purchase.
Can I attend CDCP® and CDCS® consecutively in the same week?
Yes. Consecutive attendance is permitted, subject to the applicable training arrangements.
If I have not passed the CDCP® exam, may I attend CDCS® training and examination?
Yes, you may attend CDCS® training and take its examination. The CDCS® certificate will not be released until you have obtained CDCP® certification.
CTDC®, CTIA® & CTLA®
Which courses besides CDCP® are approved prerequisites for CTDC®?
A valid data centre training certificate is required at the time of passing the CTDC® examination. The published approved list includes EPI DCFC®, CDCP®, CDCS® or CDCE®; Cnet/Uptime CDCDP, ATS or ATD; BICSI DCDC; DCD Academy DCDA together with Cooling and Power; and Capitoline DCD (Data Centre Design). Submit a certificate copy for verification on registration. The approved-equivalent list may change; check your qualification with DCAA. See the CTDC® programme.
Does the CTIA® prerequisite require the latest CTDC® version?
No. Any CTDC® version qualifies as the CTDC® prerequisite for CTIA®. See the CTIA® programme.
What are the CTLA® prerequisites?
Both are required: a CTDC® certificate with the same TIA-942 version as the CTLA® course, and a valid or active CTIA® or ISO 9001 or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor certificate. See the CTLA® programme and confirm the current requirements before registration.
Do CTDC®, CTIA® and CTLA® certifications expire?
These certificates are issued for their stated standard version and do not have a fixed expiry date. When a new standard version is published, updating your knowledge and certification is recommended.
What happens when a new TIA-942 standard version is released?
The relevant certification options for the new standard version are announced after its release. Contact DCAA to check which options are available for your existing credential.
Will a bridging or update course be offered?
Any bridging or update training depends on an assessment of changes in the new standard. No specific course is promised in advance; ask DCAA to check current arrangements.
